Schema Markup

Schema Markup is a special type of structured data code embedded in the HTML source code of a website to provide search engines with additional information about the page content. These markups enable search engines to better understand the content and display it in search results as enhanced presentations such as rich snippets.

Schema.org, a joint project by Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and Yandex, provides a standardized vocabulary catalog that allows various types of content—such as products, events, reviews, or organizations—to be described precisely.
